Wow. Today is sunny and cool. Even better, the wicked witch is out today and I do not have to see her till Monday. Hopefully she is interviewing for a job and will quit next week. That would be my happy dream.
Well, I went to the fitness center last night. IT WAS PACKED. GAH !! I figured out the eliptical and a few of the machines. There was some creepy guy there with his kids, not really making an effort to work out, just kinda staring at everyone. Not liking that. The tanning booth was busy the whole time I was there, but thats ok, I tanned this morning. So last night was 15 mins on the eliptical, which is much more difficult than the one I am used to and I can feel the different muscles being used. So I am out of my comfort zone, but I know it will work. I did 2 reps on most of the machines. The tricep pushdown, I did not fit. Really? The seat moves up and diagonally, which makes the distance between the pad you lean on and the seat smaller. I hate manufacturers that don't take into account those of us who are overweight, and adjust their machines to fit everyone. Oh well, there are other ways to do my triceps.
This morning I went back, 15 mins on the eliptical and 5 minutes tanning. I have never been in a tanning bed before, so that was kinda fun. It was kinda warming, but I was nervous I would over do it. So far, no ill effects. *i did it in the nude* I read an article somewhere about 15 yrs ago that tanning can help with boosting metabolism during a weight loss program. I am already feeling healthier.
Well, gotta get back to work,

I bit the bullet
I am a tad nervous now. I joined the new health club in New Haven. I feel so guilty. We are so broke, but here I am spending an extra $20 per month on this. I spent $75 to join. I get a month free tanning. Oh yea, I am doing that. Me and my big ole white butt..lol. So, the plan is to go tonight, but I may go in the morning instead. They even have a shower that I can use before I go to work....yeee haaaw !!! Back in the saddle again. The machines are better, there are more machines that I can actually use.
I am worth it

Tuesday, sunny and bright
Yay !! Tuesday and almost half way thru the day. Scott threw me 3 small reese's bites this morning...lol. Yup I ate them. Later I had a handful of lite chips. Not great, but not horrible either. For lunch I ate the Teryaki chicken I made last night. Yummy !! A tad on the salty side, but altogether very good. A serving of pretzel rods have rounded out my eating until dinner tonight. I will grab a bottle of water on my 3:00 break.
I had some errands to run this morning and got off schedule, so I was only in the gym for 15 mins. Hey, at least I went and I can go for 15 mins this evening before I go home. I set up the appointment for my son to go to Manpower in the morning. Which means, I have to get up with him and he can follow me out there. We will also try to hit the Social Security office too for his new card. Not sure how much time we will have because he has to get stasha and the baby for some sort of appointment in St Louis. On my way home, I am stopping at that new fitness place to see if it is something I can afford or will like. My suspicion is that I will end up joining at least for a few months to see how I like it. To me working out is kinda private and I don't like alot of people around looking at me. Where I am now, is on a busy street and people look in when they walk past. LOL...excuses excuses.
I took a walk on my lunch break. I was kinda forced to because I forgot my car keys in the office and it is a 3 min walk in and a 3 min walk back out, too much trouble so I walked around the parking lot for 10 mins. Another bit of exercise in and I plan on stopping at the gym tonight for 15 mins. Rose will be there and she is a great person to talk to.
Ok, its time to sign out. Of couse the wicked witch did NOT meet with me today. Which to me signals she is gonna write me up again... *sigh* Really can't wait for her to leave. Someday !!

Monday Monday
Yup, Monday again. My visitor Auntie Flo came this weekend and is making me quite uncomfortable, thank you very much !! My mood is up and down the last two days. I love and hate being a woman..LOL.
Ok, so I prolly have not mentioned this before. I have a confession. I have a guilty pleasure. It is World of Warcraft online game. Yup, I am a video game dork. I used to play some video games when the kids were little, but really didn't play anymore. On Christmas 2006, my oldest son bought me the game. I was totally addicted for almost a year, but have gotten less and less obsessed. Sunday's are my catch up on laundry and play WoW day. I did alot of WoW and a little of the laundry. Gonna have to get more laundry done tonight. So basically, I sat on my butt the majority of the day. Ah, but I did get to lvl 75. 5 more levels and I will be able to raid. Ya, I know, wow what a dork...LOL.
Eating wise I did really well, in fact, I barely ate anything. 2 servings of chips (*blush*), 2 slices of lunch meat, 4 pieces of gen tso chicken and a bowl of popcorn with parm chz. I was feeling really depressed yesterday, so not letting go of that cocktail yet.
My eating today has been on the low side, 2 servings pretzel rods w/lite cream chz, a boca burger, 1 oz of cheese, 1 oz of trail mix and 3 kosher pickel spears. Now my evening is open for a nice filling dinner. Got some chicken thawed. There is some teryaki marinade just waiting to be used along with some rice. Yum yum. only 10 more minutes till I leave this heck hole. One day closer to the wicked witch leaving the heck hole. Has she found another job, you ask? I have no idea, but I do know she will leave someday. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Stinkin' Saturday
And here I sit waiting for the crazies to call and ask me what their balance is, or blame me because they overdrew their account, or the best one, helping someone born in 1928 learn how to set up online banking when they do not know where to find the address bar.
I have only worked out twice this week, but on the bright side that is 2 more times than I worked out last week. I have been watching my calorie intake, except for that evening cocktail that I am still trying to shake. I am seriously considering joining the new 24 hour fitness place that just opened. Why? Well, my current gym has hours that are not very compatible with my schedule. Their hours are 6am - 8pm Mon - Thurs, 6am - 6pm Fri, 7am - 2pm Sat, and 9am - 2pm Sun. My work hours are 11am - 7:30pm and saturdays 8am - 4:30pm, and I only get 30 mins for lunch. My current gym has alot of people over the age of 65, which is great, its nice to see older people keep fit. BUT it is a tad on the uncomfortable side because they have all day to be there, I go in around 9:30am, and they constantly want to chat and keep me from my workout...and of course I am too polite to interupt. *sigh* The advantages of the 24 hours place is being able to work out after I get off work, which is when I have the most energy. I would be able to go on weekends after I get off work and get home from church. If I was bored, I could run up and do 20 mins on the eliptical. I believe it would give me the freedom to be more pro-active in my exercise. The only 2 disadvantages that I can forsee at this time are it is $20 more per month and there is not always someone on duty to supervise. I plan on visiting this place on my day off this week to check it out.
How is my bathroom you ask? NOT DONE !!!! Why you ask? Apparently, our guy got bent because my husband did some of the work he was supposed to do. Why you ask did my husband do the work? Because our guy started to peter out and the project started taking too long. This wednesday will be one month since we ripped out our old bathroom. Soooo, hubby and I started doing some of the work ourselves and we are not very good at it. After our guy didnt show up last Friday, I took it upon myself to go to You Tube and watch a video on how to mud and tape drywall. I didn't do too bad if I do say so myself. When hubby got involved later that evening, it didn't go as well because he is all about fast and not about doing it correctly. Oh well, it was at least being done. We can always pay someone later down the line when we have more money in the budget to fix our mistakes, right? I didn't sand much after the mud dried and just painted over it. I know, I know, not the right thing to do, but I really need my bathroom to be functional again and cosmetics are not a priority at this time. So our guy called me Tuesday evening and told me he was upset because hubby messed up on the grout and mud and taping. I had to bite my tongue almost in half not to snap his head off because this guy didn't show up for 5 days and lied to his wife that he was coming to our house to work and she was calling around looking for him. HOW DARE HE BE MAD AT US for wanting our freaking bathroom finished. While I was talking to him, I was painting right over the pitiful mud and tape job we did and didn't sand. LOL. I know it drove him nuts, but hey, he didnt show to do it, right?
*stepping off soapbox*
Hubby laid most of the tile for the floor yesterday and guess who showed up? Yup, our guy. He cut the hole for the toilet, fixed the tile in the shower so the handles would fit flush, and fixed a bit of the plumbing. There is still alot of little issues that he was supposed to be responsible for, but apparently he has washed his hands of our project. Hubby will cut the door and finish the tile for the floor today and grout it after work on Sunday. Monday we will be able to install the toilet and the sink. Not sure what we are gonna do with the opening of the shower, because our guy had an idea but did not really share how he was going to accomplish it.
I am looking forward to the week ahead and keeping my calories under control and shaking that evening cocktail. I want to drop 5 pounds by the end of the month, yup, I want to be 239. Keep praying for me, I need it.

Rain Rain Go Away
Wow...Rain really takes the umph outta me. That and arguing with my husband. When he doesn't get what he wants, he makes my life a living Hell. Yup, he asked me if he could spend $100 on a gas powered remote car. ??? Hellooooo, I don't have a real car of my own and my son's car that I have been driving has been broke down for 3 weeks and he NEEDS a new toy? Bite me !!! OK, I guess that kicked my umph back in, huh?
Eating wise I have been doing well. Stopping the evening cocktail has proved once again to be difficult.

Another day
Well, I did not have a good night. =( I woke up in the middle of the night and could not fall back asleep. So, what did I do? Have another drink !! Bad me. I did get some more sleep and slept in for the first time in ages, but the calories I consumed were way above my target.
Since I do not have a car, it is a great excuse not to visit the gym. Drinking Diet Dr Pepper doesnt help either. I have one 44 oz in the morning. Then in the evening I have a hard time falling asleep and I also wake up in the middle of the night and cant get back to sleep. When I wake up in the morning, I am tired and get another Diet Dr Pepper. Viciouos cycle. I need to get back on the band wagon.
My plan tonight is to take a handful (4 - 5) melatonin tabs to sleep. NO soda tomorrow. Walking on breaks and getting a better grip on myself. Gotta break that cycle.
Here are a couple of pictures of the bathroom so far.

Looking better. I will try to keep getting pictures everyday as after over 2 weeks without a bathroom, it should move along faster.

BLOG THIS
Once again I have been side tracked from my weight loss journey. The stress has finally subsided for the time being at work, but now the stress of remodeling has been going strong for about 4 weeks now
My biggest hurdle? Stopping my nightly cocktail again. This time around has been much harder than my decision last year to stop having a nightly cocktail. I don't know why, but I keep relying on it for sleep. I know I don't sleep as well when I do have the cocktail, but somehow I am still tricking myself into believing it will help me sleep. Now, dont get me wrong, I love my evening cocktail. It tastes wonderful and the relaxation is great too. But the side effects of my stomach being bloated all the time, the water retention, the restless sleep, the dehydration and all the extra calories I consume really do not compare to the benefits of stopping. I sleep better, I feel better, I have more energy, I lose weight faster and I am not groggy.
So, being the mature adult I am, why am I fighting what I know will kick start my weight loss again? I have no idea. I need someone to be accountable to, but I am not sure who would be the best person for the job. Most of my church friends have so much going on, that I would feel guilty asking them to monitor me too. I could ask one of the gals at the fitness center, but hey, I am already in the biggest loser contest and that hasnt worked. I guess its gonna have to be good old fashioned will power.
Now onto the remodeling of our bathroom. On Wednesday Feb 18th we demolished the bathroom. It was a few days later we found the worst possible sitiation. The plumbing was under the floor, with no way to get to it without tearing up the floor. Which we had to do to get the shower floor out. This increased the project cost by about $450.00. We are waaay over budget and out of money. Thank God John is willing to let us make installment payments to him for the labor he is doing. He is doing a great job and so far it looks fantastic....slow, but steady. Isn;t it lovely? Yes, that is plastic tile on the wall and the cabinet under the sink is made of none other than old paneling. Stop it !!! I know you are jealous, but it was a one of a kind and now its in the burn pile.

I will post some pictures of the progess so far, hopefully tomorrow. The shower is almost completed, the plumbing is done as is the wiring. Oh, and just so the whole world knows, I got my shower design inspiration from the Casey's bathroom in New Haven, MO. LOL.
